Moges Gashaw completed his BSc degree in Physiotherapy in 2015 and his MSc degree in Clinical Physiotherapy in 2018 from the University of Gondar in Ethiopia. Following this, Moges joined the University of Gondar as a junior physiotherapist and graduate assistant II in 2016. He is currently working as a physiotherapist, lecturer, and academic and research coordinator at the School of Medicine, department of physiotherapy, at the University of Gondar. Alongside his academic duties, he has been working as a physiotherapist at the University of Gondar Teaching Hospital and private clinics.
Since 2018, he has been teaching musculoskeletal physiotherapy, women’s health, and therapeutic exercise modules for postgraduate and undergraduate physiotherapy students. He is a trainer of trainers on early identification and screening of pediatric disability projects. Currently, he has been supervising postgraduate and undergraduate students on their research thesis work. Besides, he frequently serves as a reviewer for the Ethiopian Journal of Health and Biomedical Sciences and papers for several prestigious pain, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation journals.
He has been engaged in several research projects and has produced scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers. He is specifically interested in musculoskeletal pain, physical activity and pregnancy, exercise physiology, and improving evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and shared decision making in healthcare settings. His research includes the level of physical activity of pregnant women, the burden of pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain, and its impact on the activities of daily living.
