Susana Franco is a full-time Associate Professor and Deputy Director at Sport Science School of Rio Maior, from Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (ESDRM-IPSantarém), working there since 1998.
Graduated in Sport Sciences (Bachelor) and Exercise and Health (MSc) in Faculty of Human Kinetics (FMH) – Technical University of Lisbon, and Methodological Foundations of Physical Activity and Sport Research (PhD) in National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia – University of Lleida.
Researcher, professor, and trainer, with several publications in the areas of fitness, physical activity and health, exercise pedagogy, and body&mind.
Research awards in the field of fitness and exercise and health.
Sha has participated in several European research and development projects in sports, fitness, physical activity and health areas since 2003.
She is a Member of Life Quality Research Centre (CIEQV) and the editor in the scientific journal Apunts (in the area of physical education and sport).
She was chairman of the Scientific Society of Sport Pedagogy (2018-2022) and a board member of the European Network of Sport Education (ENSE; 2017-2023).
